Paris Hilton and Brad Leone Sample our Goldenberries

“As consumers search for healthier, nutrient dense fruits, Goldenberries are making a surge in popularity in North America and beyond…”

A special thanks to Bon Appetit online for featuring Goldenberries (also knows as Cape Gooseberries) in a recent segment with Paris Hilton and Brad Leone. Celebrities and chefs increasingly are focusing on incorporating going green and superfoods into their diet, and the Goldenberry is enjoying a new-found stardom as a result.

Berries have always been a favorite fruit of North American consumers, but now more than ever parents, baby boomers, and and younger consumers are seeking out lesser known, “new” fruits with higher health benefits.

Some berries, such as the goji berry and goldenberry are considered to be superfruits, with a high antioxidant value and high nutritional content. Goldenberries have an impressive nutrient profile, with high amounts of beta-carotene along with Vitamins and Calcium. Goldenberries are high in plant compounds called antioxidants (3Trusted Source), which are important to protect against and repair the damage caused by free radicals (molecules linked to aging and diseases).

Golden berries can be enjoyed fresh, frozen in smoothies or juices, or dried. They grow on vines protected by papery husks, which are removed prior to enjoying.
