Goldenberry Farms joins “Fresh From Florida” regional grower program
“In keeping with our legacy of working with quality produce and sustainable family farmers, GBF is thrilled to open our Fresh from Florida programs.”
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Goldenberry Farms™ has announced its participation in Fresh From Florida, and a regional lineup of tropical fruit, including locally grown passionfruit, dragon fruit, and tree-ripened mangos.
Goldenberry Farms is working with family farms throughout Florida to develop fresh, regionally sourced tropical and citrus items.
The “Fresh From Florida” from the Florida Department of Agriculture Services promotes Florida agricultural products through consumer marketing campaigns, partnerships with 100+ domestic and international retailers, and an established presence at prominent industry tradeshows.
Goldenberry Farms™, known for its “Where Good Things Grow” approach to sustainable farming, focuses on the development of exotic, “better for you” tropical fruit and produce, and is involved in all levels of fruit development with expanding field and partner locations within the United States, as well as South America and the Caribbean.
“Consumers and grocers really appreciate and seek locally and regionally grown produce. Florida provides a rich soil and fertile climate for a wide variety of delicious fruit, including our famed citrus and mangos.”
Superfoods, quality produce, and exotics are seeing double-digit growth, and a widening consumer demand penetrating into smaller markets, where exotic fruit may have previously only been available seasonally. This is a sector to which Florida is exceptionally well poised,” commented Christopher Palumbo, Development Director for the Goldeberry Farms brand in Miami.
“Growing locally has many advantages for consumers in the United States - the primary one supporting local farmers and US agriculture, and even leading to a revival of the sector in many areas. Local produce is generally fresher, and is friendlier for the environment in terms of a shorter transit time.”
“We have seen a sharp uptick in consumer demand overall in healthier-for-you fruit options. Tropical fruit, because of their vibrant colors and flavors add a new dimension to the dinner (and breakfast) table.
